About
I have been a resident in the Hamilton Southeastern District for over 16 years. My husband and I built our home here because of HSE's reputation for excellence. At the time, we had two children, only one of which lived with us. Our oldest daughter A'issa lived with us and went to HSE schools from 6th to 9th grade before returning to live with her mother. Our youngest daughter Selena has been in HSE schools since Kindergarten, and is starting 6th grade this fall. Our middle child Dylan resides with his mother and graduated from Carmel High School this May! We're so proud of all of children, and have always emphasized the importance of education in their lives. I am a member of Geist Christian Church, and attend the Fishers campus, where when not on quarantine, I volunteer in the Children's Ministry, and lead a small group focused on spiritual and physical wellness. I've spent over 20 years working in the field of Early Childhood Education, and have a Masters in Education from Ball State University. A colleague once asked me what I did for fun, and I remember another colleague answering for me, "She likes to watch her kid's events." It was a joke, but it's also true. I can't wait to get back to watching Selena in gymnastics, basketball, robotics, and whatever else she shows interest in. As a family, we enjoy going to the movies, but have been trying out streaming movies and making our own "movie theater" popcorn during quarantine. I've also rediscovered my love (and more time) for baking this spring...my mom's banana bread recipe has proven to be the breakfast of choice for most of us during this time.
